On Tuesday 23 August we held the official book launch for The Banting Solution at Willows cafe , Cape Town. The event was well attended and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting fellow Banters and potential Banters.
Professor Tim Noakes was the guest of honour for the evening and gave a generous recommendation for our book saying ” This book gives you the practical information in a very accessible way on all the questions that you might want to ask as you start to bant.”
Much laughter was drawn from the crowd when the good professor carried on to say “ I would love to have written this book myself, ” and mentioned that this is the best compliment one author can give another.
Both authors shared aspects of the book followed by a Q & A session and book signing. It was most heartwarming to hear some amazing success stories about weight loss and health transformation.
We were most fortunate to have my daughter Megan video the speeches for us and you can find these on our Facebook page
Having Jonno and Rob from the Real Meal Revolution added to the very positive and vibrant note of the evening.
The event was hosted at Willows Caffe in the Willowbridge Centre , Cape Town. Guests were treated to platters of delicious Banting friendly finger foods in the relaxed and calm environment of the cafe. To those who attended the event , a very heartfelt thank you and to those who would like to have been there but live in other provinces we look forward to meeting you in the future.
Here are a few photos from the evening.
No sooner was I getting my breath back from a whirlwind 2 days in Cape Town than I attended a celebration of women event hosted by the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Moses Mahbida Stadium in Durban.
This was a fabulous event for approximately 400 women at which I was invited to be a guest speaker. It was fantastic to have the opportunity to tell so many people at once about the health consequences of bad eating and how following a clean diet can rectify many of the lifestyle diseases we have long thought are chronic ailments.
Before the start of the event the guests had been treated to a breakfast of rich pastries and cupcakes and I noticed that for many mu speech was no deterrent to indulge in more cake and dessert after lunch. Sugar and carb addiction was evident in the waistlines as well as the quantity of cake that was loaded onto many of the plates. Much work to be done !
We were treated to some great entertainment and a fabulous massage ( those poor ladies must have been exhausted by the end of the day)
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and interacting with some very dynamic women and delighted to have made new friends.
I now need to put my head down and do some serious work on an exciting new project that you will all hear about soon.
Our next event is planned for Johannesburg on October 22. We are very excited to be putting a great day together in conjunction with Ine Reynierse author of the best selling ” Low Carb is Lekker” recipe book. Venue and time to be confirmed but in the meantime be sure to keep the day free, it’s going to be a fabulous event.
